Sometimes little things and habits have a long lasting effect on our life. As we start inculcating small positive changes in our everyday routine we never think that it could affect us so drastically in the long run. Here is a list of some of those things that you need to make a habit to improve the quality of your life.

  1. Get enough sleep

Our body needs a minimum of 6 to 8 hours of sleep. It is important to get proper sleep at night for us to remain active during the day. Also you must have heard that you do require your beauty sleep.

Sleep deprivation leads to tiredness and eventually affects everything we do including decision making and it takes a toll on our mental and physical health.

Similarly oversleeping also affects our biological rhythm and makes us feel lethargic and cranky.

Try to include naps in your daily routine no matter it is of 15 or 45 minutes. Researchers have found that napping actually increases alertness and increases positive emotions.

Everybody knows about the importance of exercise yet very few people make it their priority. Researchers have proved that exercise is the key to good life. It not only offers health benefits but also improves sleep, libido and confidence.

Take out 20-30 minutes for exercise be it walk, swimming, aerobics, yoga or working out in a gym and see the positive changes in your life.

Being close to nature reduces stress and makes us feel thankful in life. Breathe in the fresh air, enjoy the view and get friendly with nature. A simple walk on the beach or a hike on the mountain trail or just watering the plants in your very own garden can be a stress buster filling you with positivity throughout the day.

Meditation can help you reduce anger and anxiety giving you a calm feeling. It improves your creativity and helps you focus on the present. Meditation can be as simple as your daily prayer, yoga or just giving time to oneself. It can increase happiness and make you a positive person.

  1. Declutter your environment

There are so many things that we keep pending and it just gets piling up. Sort everything out and keep only those things that you use or require.

You might be having clothes that you don’t wear, sort them out and donate it to a charity. Similarly other stuff like paperwork or things that need to be arranged should be done one by one so your environment is clutter free and eventually free of negative vibrations.

  1. Say no to worries

Refrain from worrying over issues that you can’t control. Keep aside your ‘what if’ thinking and try to think positive instead. You cannot do anything by worrying but you can change things by working on them so get to it.
